Roommate Paranoia?
Hi All- Well I am a 36 year old single female. About a month ago I moved into a condo to share with two other female in the forties. Problem is one of them is crazy paranoid about her stuff (clothes, sunglasses, pots/pans, etc.)it doesnt matter what value it has, it could be a pack of gum. She’s very flightly and misplaces things all the time, but instead of recognizing her forgetfullness, she blames me and thinks I might have stole it.
They other strange thing is that she seems to want to fill the rest of the common areas with HER stuff (couches, coffee maker, blankets, etc.). Which confuses me?? If she is so paranoid about her stuff, wouldn’t she want to keep it under lock and key? Anybody have any ideas? What should I say or do the next time it happens??
take some sticky paper and put her name on everything that she has in the common areas. After that do the same for your and the other roommate’s stuff…when she goes to touch your stuff do the same thing to her as she does to you. After a few doses of her own medicine she should see just how silly she is being…
If that doesn’t work tell her that she should think about getting her won place as her behavior is getting on everyone’s nerves. If she is as paranoid as you say she will just get worse if you don’t put a stop to it now
