Why do right-wingers (both political and religious) have a persecution complex?
They always think everybody’s picking on them and everyone’s out to get them. To quote The Kinks, “paranoia will destroy ya.”
They feel victimized because they can’t control the government, change peoples’ beliefs or lifestyles, or force conversion. The truth is, they can’t control the world, so they feel like they’ve “lost control,” which causes them to feel victimized.
