Relationship Paranoia
Curing relationship paranoia/jealousy?
I’ve always been a paranoid/jealous boyfriend and I want it to stop. I don’t want it to ruin this relationship too.
I 100% trust my girlfriend in any situation and any scenario.
Trouble is, those feelings are still there…. the paranoia creeps back into my mind with startling efficiency.
I feel rediculous most of the time… it’s terrible, I feel like I can never trust anyone when I REALLY should trust this person.
She’s wonderful…really the most loyal person I’ve known though I still struggle with these selfish feelings. It’s not that I feel inadequate or that I have a low self-esteem… because I don’t… I’m just paranoid about everything and naturally it creeps into my relationships.
Perhaps I need counseling…. what would your advice be?
everyone has a little feeling of jealousy, but they try to ignore it. if you trust your girlfriend, you should try to ignore these feelings and know that she will not cheat on you. there’s a reason why she chose to date you and not anyone else. she just needs her independence to hang out with her friends and have a good time without worrying about you getting jealous.
