Severe Paranoia
How to get over a severe arachnophobia (paranoia, hallucinations, and I can’t be in the same room with one)?
Once I see a spider, bug, slug whatever, I get very paranoid that others are everywhere. And if I can’t physically see that I’ve killed it, I can’t be in the same room. I also start to hallucinate that there are spider webs on me or bugs crawling on me, but I look down and there’s nothing there. I don’t know how my phobia started, I can’t remember any traumatizing events. I tried asking my therapist what to do, but he says to just try picking one up and reminding myself it’s not that bad. That doesn’t help and I can’t do it anyway. They freak me out to the point of panic. It’s also embarrassing when it happens in front of other people, normally I want my girlfriend to think I can take scary or messed up stuff. But if she sees me getting sweaty or paranoid from a stupid little bug, she’s gonna think I’m a pu**y. Same goes for other people I hang around.
What do I do?
Go to a professional Dr that can hypnotize you. When you are hypnotized he can make you believe that you are not scared of spiders and that they are there for your protection against mosquito’s etc.
I saw a documentary on National Geographic were they hypnotized people that had all sorts of phobias and in most individuals it made a big improvement.
